Imaging

Imaging is the process of converting paper-based documents into either microfilm (film-based imaging) or digital files (digital imaging). This is accomplished by using either cameras in the case of film-based imaging or scanners for digital imaging. These imaged files are indexed and may be kept online in a server environment, in near-line storage in CD jukeboxes or other removeable media or off-line storage in tapes or other types of storage media.
